Princess Beatrice was born at the Portland Hospital in London on 8 August 1988 and is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York. Beatrice attended school at Coweth Park School in Surrey and St George’s School, Ascot and was Head Girl in her final year at St George’s School. As she suffers from dyslexia, the Princess was forced to delay her GCSE exams.
Her parents separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996 when she was 8 years old, but she is close to both her parents and is regularly seen with one or both of them. She regularly undertakes work with charities and is often seen attending royal events. Beatrice has future plans to start a fashion business, but is considering continuing her education in the United States beforehand. In May 2008 she is was a volunteer sales clerk in Selfridges, and made a small cameo in 'The Young Victoria' a film about her great-great-great-great grandmother, Queen Victoria. . In September 2008 she started a three year course studying for a BA in History and History of Ideas at Goldsmiths College, London.
